UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NSUKKA CURRENTLY IN CRISIS
Still battling to recover from the effect of the industrial action embarked by the Academic Staff Union off Universities (ASUU), another gigantic problem is now facing this great institution.
In the past years, since the new vice chancellor assumed office, things have never been the same. There were positive changes such as the further beautification of the environment which one would easily notice at a glance. There is also the negative changes which to most people, including staff and students outweighed the good changes.
There are several changes that occurred when professor Bartholomew Okolo assumed the post of the vice-chancellor of the institution such as, the privatization of the primary schools run by the university thereby cutting them off from the university's payroll, refusing to appraise the staff of the security department until now. This he denied, claiming that he wasn't aware of their stagnation. The reason as some seed it is because of what happened at the university gate between him and a security man just before he was made the V.C. The story has it that he refused to grant the request for his vehicle to be searched. He slapped the officer for trying to subject him to searching and the officer slapped back!
Another negative side of the V.C is the non-payment of workers' salary when due, This is because he gives instructions for the money to be fixed in the bank for personal profit. He hasn't even payed some benefit.
There are still many more, but the one rocking the campus is the suspension of the chairman of the school's governing council. The pro-chancellor was suspended this week in accordance with the order they say was from Abuja.
Before this, the head of bursery department, Mrs. Obi was suspended. Our sources have it that the council headed by the suspended pro-chancellor Dr Enejere was leading the council in probing the actions of the V.C over his past four years in office. During the council's meeting about five months ago, several cases of mismanagement and diversion of funds, employment issues etc. was counted against the V.C. This put the V.C. off balance, especially the request by the council for the documents of his expenditure on contracts and so on. He definitely has some skeleton in his cupboard!
On Wednesday morning, work was halted in demonstration against the suspension of the incorruptible pro-chancellor. Most people believe that the V.C played a part in his suspension especially because of his several attempts to further conceal the truth.
Our sources gathered that a formal demonstration was slated to start 8am today (already in progress). Meanwhile, serious prayers were held in the security department, medical center and a couple of other departments for God's intervention. Let's wait and see what God's will will turn out to be.

FINDING TRUE LOVE IN A WORLD OF ROMANCE
Sunset. walks. Talks. Drives in the countryside. Holding hands. Soft music. Its all part of romance. Just the sound of the word rouses hopes and recalls memories. There is a natural longing for romance for us.
After romance, the logical progression is to love. Above everything else that’s what we all desire—to love and be loved, cared for and appreciated.
But are love and romance synonymous?
Many find romance. not so many find love, i mean real love or what you can call true love. Why should that be?
Plainly put, too many of us have lived in a fantasy world so long we don’t even know what love is.
Some think love as a feeling, a tingling emotion. It is something spoken or the physical attraction for a member of the opposite sex.
Most people’s perception of love and romance comes from music, novels (mostly by females), television or movies. But what is depicted there is not reality of everyday living. The portrayed romance in a movie is far different from what we see in real life.
We have the meaning of love and romance all mixed up. Love goes far beyond attraction. It is not based on appearance. It is not the feeling or excitement of physical passion. It is not what one receives.
And there is the key. Love is not what you get—IT IS WHAT YOU GIVE! It is thoughtfulness, concern, and sensitivity to the need of another.
From what is common today, when a man and woman begin to see each other and become romantically attracted, what often follows is the verbalization of the word, “I love you”
The question is, do they?
Honestly, most don’t.
Usually they are teenagers and too young to even comprehend the meaning of love.
What they mistake as “love” is really romantic attraction.
The sentence “I am romantically inclined to you” is not used among. This is in no way romantic.
They certainly don’t say, “I lust after you”, for lust in romance as i know is the direct opposite of love. And the truth is, so much “young love” is—lust. It is for one’s own sensual pleasure—not real love.
Love isn’t something that happens suddenly. Romance may appear out of nowhere—but real love takes time. It must be proved. It may begin small. But true love grows. And it has no end.
Romance, especially when love is absent, will surely fade.
The real determination of love is when love is tested, that’s when we will understand the difference.
There is a story told by James Dobson about a young married couple who appeared to be very much in love. The attractive young woman in Dr. Dobson’s story developed a tumour on her face that required surgery. After exploring all options, together with the consequences, they finally chose to have the surgery.
The operation was successfully completed. After the surgery, her face remained bandaged for several days. In the meantime, the doctor had informed her that a complications had arisen. There was no way to have removed the tumour without severing a nerve in her face, which might leave her permanently disfigured. And that was what happened. One side of her mouth was pulled outwards and down. Plainly put, she would not be the physically beautiful person she once was.
Of course she was devastated. Then she worried whether her husband would still be attracted to her. Would he still love her as before?
The day came to remove the bandages. The calming voice of the doctor had only partially prepared them for what was to come.
When she saw in the mirror her now disfigured mouth, she began to weep and looked anxiously for her husband’s reaction. It was then she knew why she was so thankful for him and she would never have to worry about his love.
His reaction was ever so simple. He held her hand and said, “On you it’s kind of cute. I like it.”
You see, love isn’t the feeling we get from another, it is the feeling we give to another. That young husband had certainly been romantically attracted to his wife. But his love for her far exceeded personal appearance. He had taken her as his wife, to care for her—to love her, for better and for worse. Nothing would ever change that.

Kim Kardashian's sexy body after pregnancy
Kim received a bunch of criticism for gaining weight during her pregnancy, and now she is getting the last laugh with a smoking hot post-baby body.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” babe is featured on the cover of the new issue of Us Weekly, having lost 56 pounds since baby North West was born.
An insider revealed, “Kim feels confident again. She worked really hard and is so motivated to stay fit.”
“She’s hit her goal weight but wants to drop to a size 0. Apparently she’s eating just 1,000 calories a day and drinking herbal teas in a bid to shed the weight. She also wakes up for daily 5am workouts and often does another hour in the afternoon.” That is much effort indeed!
Another source added, “She's got a trainer on tour with her and Kanye and a chef to keep her meals carb free. With the exception of some cheat days, because she is realistic now, she sticks with it!”

Cristiano Ronaldo sees his wax twin
Finding himself face to face with his doppelganger, Cristiano Ronaldo was in attendance to the official presentation of his waxwork sculpture at the Wax Museum in Madrid, Spain on Saturday (December 7).
The Real Madrid star's outfit was a brown jacket, tan scarf, and white trousers to meet his likeness, who looked ready to hit the field in his red Portuguese soccer uniform.
Full of self-confidence, the 28-year-old athlete has huge plans later this month to keep himself in fans' minds.
The setting is on the Portuguese island where he grew up, and that is where he will open a museum dedicated to himself that will hold his memorabilia and souvenirs from his world travel.

Elton John condemns Russian anti-gay law at a show in Moscow
He is the first big-time Western celebrity to condemn Russia's new anti-gay legislation, Sir Elton John made some noise at his concert in Moscow on Friday, 6th Dec.
Madonna and Lady Gaga (who performed in Moscow in 2012) are other singers who stood up against anti-gay movements.
The 66-year-old singer's performance was in honour of a Russian man killed for being gay, and during it, he condemned discrimination against the local gay community onstage.
He claimed that he was "sad to learn" about the enactment of the banning of "propaganda of homosexuality among minors," also stating on BBC News that, "In my opinion, it is inhumane and it is isolating."
The Russian legislation was enacted in June, and since then, the "Circle of Life" singer has become the first Western celebrity to publicly denounce the laws. Controversy and law suits are definitely gonna follow.

DOES GOD EXIST?
Some people believe that God is just a myth. If one tries too convince a friend that God exists, the most common statement is "prove it". We are really going to prove it here.
EVOLUTION VS GOD
The questioned existence of God is invariably backed up with the theory of evolution-that is, if one doesn't believe in God, he or she is most likely to embrace the theory of evolution. You weren't just born to be the way you are, either you believe that evolution is responsible for you and other living creatures or that God made you and other forms of life. People believe in evolution either because they have been convinced after an extensive research, or they were taught at school, or maybe they believe because they want to belong. My aim here is to lead you in the right track if you are almost beginning to doubt Gods existence or lead you to the right track if you have been living in ignorance.
There is no proof for the theory of evolution. It is just a theory and is not based on proof. However, the belief and knowledge about God answers the question of how our natural environment came to be and how we are the highest animal on the planet and are the way we are-intelligent, skillful and sophisticated. Could this be the work of evolution or the work of an Almighty creator? The Holy Bible is the best prove that God exists, obviously because it contains instructions and serves as manufacturer's manual to guide man, His product, on a successful existence in his environment.
There is no account for the origin of life and things and life by the theory of evolution. Many geologists and biologists confess that they don't know the possibility of life evolving from inanimate matter. Life can only come from life. There is no way science can explain the origin of life on earth.
WHICH IS THE TRUE GOD?
How do you know, among numerous gods that your god exists? There are many religions, with gods more numerous than the religions. Many religions have gods that were carved by men out of wood, clay, stone etc. While some other gods are works of human imagination and reasoning. Surprisingly, most of these 'false' religions have their own creation stories and stories about human existence. Most of these gods, especially the ones fashioned out of wood, clay, golden or any other material are made to be seen as active and responsive by human beliefs or by demons. The truth is, these happen to further draw people from God.
People believe that they are in most times helpless(reference to the hurricane that happened in the Philippines on November 2013 that made people, even the atheists seek God's help). Religions believe that there is a maker who made all things, they also believe that there are certain guidelines for man to follow to live a comfortable life. There is also the belief that death is not the end of man--there is an afterlife event. Evolution theory does not explain in details how life began, neither does it explain how to live and function properly in our environment and what becomes of the soul after death, see m=1what you should know about death. Note that, science does not that humans have a soul or spirit rather it admits that bio plasma which slowly disappears some time after death lives in man.
ABOUT HOLY BIBLE'S CREATION STORY
In the Holy Bible, God outlined in detail His creation activities. This makes it clear that creation is the proof of God. In the Bible, he also showed how man should relate with Him and his fellow men, giving life to the dead and giving us a glimpse of what happens after death.
HUMAN SUPERIORITY
Did you ever wonder about the vast difference between human mind and animal brain? This, incidentally, is another proof that evolution is false!
The physical brain of higher vertebrates is essentially the same in physical form, design, constituents as human brain. The brains of whales, elephants, dolphins are larger--and chimp almost as large. Yet, the output of human brain is indescribably greater. Few know indeed, why!
Reason is, the spirit which endows man with the ability to think, though it cannot think on its own. This spirit was given by God to man alone to enable personal relationship with Him and man(Genesis 2:7).
A scientist, Lyall Watson in one of his books wrote " I can see no way of accounting for the meaningful, directed, intelligent guidance of this kind, without assuming that there is an organization or a design behind all life that goes beyond natural selection, chance, causality and even the complete survival of an integrated personality" and he went further to write thus " I am driven to the conclusion that there is a form in the void. You may call it God if you like". He actually wrote this on the account of his encounter with psychic surgery which I myself believe is in somehow satanic! see Jesus at gethsamane- a lesson for us

Who is my friend?
Poem, written on 6th March 2012
Who is my friend
The one I call my friend
That person who takes me as I am
That person who is tender, kind and gentle
That person who rebukes me when I'm wrong
That person who can see who I am in the inside and not love me for my outward disposition.
That person who looks into my eyes and says "I see someone great inside"
That person who brings out the best in me
I will always call my friend
They say love is beautiful
They say love bears all things
They say love is kind
All these My friend fulfill
Because I fulfill them
Our love waxes stronger
We are so compatible
Whenever they see my tear, they dry it up
Whenever I fall, they help me stand
Whenever I rejoice, they rejoice
Whenever I weep, they weep
Whenever I encounter the difficult part of life, they are always there to assist me.
They give all their time and to them I pledge to give all I have
You have been a friend in need
Whenever I see, I smile and say to myself " I will always love you and you will always be in my heart".

What you should know about death
*some facts are based on the book, "The Romeo Error"
Did you know that each day some of us die so that the rest of us might live?
Ok, don't think everything on earth is as mortal as you are; bacteria is virtually immortal. No wonder they thrive in every habitat , even inside Beyonce's body. Binary fission makes their immortality possible.
The traditional definition of a life cycle is "a progressive series of changes undergone by an organism from fertilization to death".
After death, rigor motis starts from the intestine and ends in the heart. Note that it doesn't start immediately after clinical death.
During clinical death, specialized organs like the brain die first.
Did you know that according to the research conducted by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross in 1974, people with terminal illness express five distinct behavior in reaction to their inevitable death:
The very first reaction to the news of a terminal illness is usually "No, not me, it cannot be true". They accuse the doctor of being incompetent. However, some might act as if they were never told.
As soon as the patient admits that it must be true, denial is followed by anger and frustration. They also envy other.
The person asks "why me, when I still have so much to do? Or this stage in some cases may be replaced by bargaining in which patients make promises to themselves or others in return for extra time. Some at this stage, believe in God's miracles, and make huge promises to Him to gain His grace.
Then when the full implication of the illness are realized, comes a time of fear and depression.
The final stage comes when terminal patients have had enough time or been given enough of the right kind of help, to conquer their fears and accept the inevitability of dying, they often experience feelings of peace and contentment.
Terrifying isn't it? Now let's see how different tribes treat their dead.
WAYS OF DEALING WITH THE DEAD BY DIFFERENT TRIBES.
The Ashanti tribe of west Africa bury their dead below the ground surface lying on the left side with hands beneath the head in special burial grounds
The Ibos wrapp their dead in bamboo mats and bury them under the ground.
The Aboriginal Tiwi of north Australia bury their dead above the ground covered with huge mmounds of soil stamped into place by funeral dance.
The Jews bury in family tombs usually carved out of rocks.
The Bevenda in South Africa shut up their dead in their own houses and leave. But some build special death houses.
The Angolan Orimbundu tribe pute their dead in caves.
The santee sioux sew their dead in deer or buffalo skin an leave them in the top of tall trees.
Tibet practise air burial which involves cutting up the body, separating the flesh, grinding the bones into small pieces, mixing all with barley and feeding this to the birds specially summoned too the feast by horn.
Some people prefer to eat their dead themselves, they believe it is good to rest in tthe stomach of a friend than in the cold ground.
New south Wales roast their dead.
The Vikings either bury of burn their dead in their longships, along with their everyday possessions. They believe that these possessions are going to be needed in their afterlife.
Like the Vikings, the Egyptians bury their dead in tombs filled with things they might need in their next life.
The Bali burn their dead entirely.
So, throughout all these various ways of dealing with the dead, runs a central theme. Implicit in every funeral practice, there is an assumption that death marks a kind of transition and not the end.
We should know that death is inside each and everyone of us. The excessive concern with accidental death seems to mask an insufficient concern with natural death. Nelson and Nelson (1973) wrote that highly religious individuals experience the least fear of death. Nonreligious individuals experience moderate levels of anxiety about death, whereas religious people who do not consistently practice their faith experience the greatest fear of dying.
Rich people are generally anxious about death, unlike poor and old people who in most times think about death. Where I live for instance, the rich go a long way in fortifying, with the hope of enjoying their wealth to the fullest. Whereas, the poor take hold of whatever life brings. Old people in my hometown invariably talk about death, planning and contemplating it. There has been issues of dead people coming back to life either hours, days or even weeks after being clinically pronounced dead. I haven't seen though, but I have read books containing such stories. For instance, Lyall Watson in his book told about a man named John Macintyre who in 1824 was certified dead and properly buried. But entrepreneurs who stole dead bodies dug it up and sold it to a surgeon company. He woke up in the dissecting table at a London medical school as the instructor's knife pierced through his chest. Another one like it happened in 1964 when the post-mortem operation at a New York mortuary was disrupted just as the first cut was being made, when the patient leaped up and siezed the surgeon by the throat. This doctor paid for the error with his life--- he died of shock.
What happen when one dies? My father, in one of his numerous stories told me about something most people might presume to be untrue, and could sound unbelievable to some religious individuals. He told me a story of how the oldest person in a village communicates with spirits. The aged man spend most of his time indoors discussing with the spirits such that anyone (the wife inclusive) who approaches the room is expected to make some noise to allow the spirits to varnish before entering. Some people don't actually believe in ghosts or spirits of the dead. Some believe that what most people assume to be spirits are actually demons. In some cultures, troubled spirits are often believed to roam around and are often prevented by witchcraft. Some religions especially the Christian religion believe that the dead go to their creator where they are judged; the good enter into eternal rest, while the bad are condemned into eternal damnation! Some traditions pray to their ancestors, believing that they are gods, and can protect them. This calls for unending sacrifices.
In summary, science cannot actually explain why we die. The issue of death has caught the attention of people of all ages especially the elderly. Humans want to be immortal and live forever. Some Biologists believe that it is as a result of the death and weakness of the numerous body cells, which some belive it is genetic. New body cells are produced by the specialized organs and are supposed to replace the dead ones, so, we start aging when there is a short fall in production. After this, death follow closely which justifies the words of L. Watson that "death is in every one of us". Death is apparently not the end of any human. So, I advice, take care of your self and live your life in the best way possible.

GET RID OF THE PREGNANCY OR...
"Dave you can't leave me like this, we are in this together," I pleaded.
"Yes we are in it together but since you've decided to stick to your gun, you might as well be on your own. I've told you, I am not ready for a family," he replied in anger.
"So, what do you suggest?" I asked pleadingly.
"The obvious thing of course; abortion. After all it won't be your first time," he said contemptuously as if getting pregnant was my entire fault.
"Over my dead body! The last time I did it, I almost bled to death and you promised it wouldn't happen again. Now you are suggesting it. I'll rather sell my body to take care of the baby than abort it," I said flatly and finally.
"Have it your way. Mind you, I don’t want to have anything to do with either you or the baby when it is born," he countered threateningly.
"If that is the way you want it, God will judge you and me," I said.
"i still love you but since you want to have the baby, then its goodbye," he replied.
From the stillness of his voice, I knew he had already made up his mind on the issue. I went into the bedroom to pack my few belongings and left.
On my way out, I reminisced on how I came to be in this sorry pass. If only I had listened to my cousin, I would not be carrying Dave's baby.
I met Dave at a birthday bash thrown by a friend of one of my cousins, Nicky. Since Nicky couldn’t attend, I had to go alone. Dave was the best-dressed guy at the party and he danced well.
I instantly fell in love with him and tried to catch his attention but ladies swarm around him like bees. When I was almost giving up, Dave came to sit beside me looking exhausted.
"Why not relax. Must you dance with every girl here?" I asked him.
"You must have guts to tell me what to do. Well then, can I dance with you because it's like you are the only girl I've not danced with," he said.
That was how we became friends and I was dying to show off Dave to Nicky who travelled some weeks by to see her parents. When she returned eventually and got to meet Dave, she was devastated that I could fall in love with Dave who she described as a ruthless Casanova.
It was a spectacle how it happened. She must have had a premonition because I practically pleaded with Nicky to stay at home to meet Dave, as he would be visiting that day. When he came, I informed Nicky while I went to the kitchen to get him something to drink.
I ran out when I heard Nicky scream. "Get the hell out of my house before I lose my temper and I don’t ever want to set my eyes on you again."
Without a backward glance, Dave left. I turned to Nicky with a murderous look. Instead of talking, she started crying so I left her and made to go after Dave when she called me back.
"He is not worth it. First, his name is not Dave but Thomas and he has no job. He lives on people. The worst is that he knows nothing about love. If you get pregnant for him, then you will see his true colour," Nicky warned me.
When I asked how she came to know Dave, Nicky revealed that she had gone out with him before. She spent all she had on him especially when he promised to marry her. He however changed when she became pregnant and would not abort it.
I did not heed Nicky's warning and it caused problem between us for some days. Dave promised not to make love to me until after our wedding and I loved him the more for that. He told me he was out of job but would soon get one.
I was working with a textile company so I was able to take care of him. Some seven months later, I felt there was nothing wrong with making love with me since he would still marry me. So I initiated the move and I was not disappointed.
When the first pregnancy occurred, Dave convinced me o abort it. He had no job and would not want me to suffer bringing up a child all on my own. The second pregnancy happened and I was looking forward to having it but Dave thought otherwise.
"Although I now have a job, I think it will be better to plan before dabbling into having children. I promise you, this will be the last time. In fact next month, I will start making arrangement to see your people for the wedding," Dave promised
I aborted it but nearly bled to death. I was admitted into the hospital for two weeks. Nicky stood by me while Dave settled the hospital bills. I heard Nicky warning Dave to keep off me.
"Thomas, nothing should happen to her or else you will regret ever knowing me," she warned.
I was, therefore, mortally shocked and stupefied when Dave virtually sent me out of his house and life for refusing aborting a third time.
I went to Nicky who gave me the I-told-you-so look but she welcomed me. She became like a mother to me and nursed me through the pregnancy. I heard from friends that Dave had started seeing another girl.
I gave birth to a set of twins; two boys. They look so much like Dave and I was very happy because in less than three months, a multinational company offered me a job.
I was able to push Dave to the back of my mind and was already dating another guy, Banji, who was like a brother and father to me. He told me how his fiancé of five years jilted him for his best friend. This he explained had made it difficult for him to trust women.
He liked me but was afraid to fall in love with anyone. It was okay with me after all I went through with Dave; I was not ready to trust any man. Within two years, we became very intimate. Love was in our eyes for each other, but there was no commitment.
On Saturday, three months ago, I was bathing the twins when I heard a knock at the door. I opened it and was surprised to see someone who looked like Dave.
"Hello Bim. Please can I come in?" he asked.
"Dave!" I said in a whisper to be sure that he was the one.
I could not believe my eyes. What could he possibly want in my house? I quickly took the twins in before inviting him in, but he had already seen them.
"Are those my babies?" he asked
"Children you disowned even before they were born?
Sorry you have no kids here", I replied.
Dave came to beg me to come back to him, that I was already engaged to someone else. I was surprised when he said he knew about Banji but came all the same to find out whether he could convince me.
He couldn’t convince me, not after the trauma he put me through. He wished me good luck and left. I am still waiting for Banji to propose to me. If he does not in the next months, I would have to sever my relationship with him

LOVE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT TO BE
Some people know what to do, their likes and dislikes but do not know what they want. This is the anatomy of confusion and misery. When you deny your true feelings, you are denying yourself. That is why some talk one way, feel another way and still act another way.
If you hide your feelings too much, eventually you will begin to believe in your pretence.
To you, love means romance, ardent and passionate attraction. It means moonlight and roses. Your partner is your everything and love means the happy ending that has no ending.
To you, love does not mean buying a home and furnishing it together. It does not mean believing in your partner's dream. It does not mean sharing in the adventures, drudgery, excitement and heartaches of raising children together. It does not mean waiting on the fact that things will work out and sharing the other fellow's hopes, failures and plans. It is not sex.
Instead of finding a verbal definition of love that applies to all, substitute it to find what love means to you.
Nearly everyone wants to be loved and cared for, respected and appreciated. Nearly everyone wants to feel especially competent and efficient at something worthwhile. Nearly everyone wants to be understood and wants someone to know how he thinks and feel about things.
Very few people want to do these things to others.
Love is like a chair you want to sit on, the shape of which determines your posture. Your postuer determines how you want to re-adjust to fit in and be comfortable. Your chair is your love and don’t try and compare it with another fellow's chair.
Love means different things at different places, circumstances and situations. So love is what you make it to be.

ANGER,TOOL FOR GROWTH IN RELATIONSHIPS + ULTIMATE RULES FOR A GREAT RELATIONSHIP.
ANGER,TOOL FOR GROWTH IN RELATIONSHIPS
There are many things we tend to hold back to. We repress much of our emotions, wether good or bad. Everyone gets angry. Some people express their emotions openly while others don’t. If you are one of those who claim you don’t get angry- you are either in touch with your emotions or you are a pretender. In any relationship, anger can be either healthy or unhealthy. Anger is just an emotion. How you process it is what determines whether it becomes a tool for growth or a source of pain and destruction.
Obviously, in our society, anger is perceived as a negative emotion. If you usually express anger, society would describe you as a harsh, unfriendly and one who cannot control his emotions and himself. Yet, holding back anger affects negatively the person who is holding back. Most of us suppress anger and deny it exists until it rears its head. Whatever we hold back becomes a part of us and gets stored in our body as a tangible manifestation in the form of headache, tension, pain, ulcer, and many other physical ailments. In our relationship, we have found that its always best to deal with any anger that comes up right away! All emotional feelings are signals that there is something in your life that needs to be dealt with, and anger is one of those emotions. Little do we know that the other person may need to hear what we have to say just as much as we need to express it. When anger comes up, it is a sign that something in your life is out of balance and incongruent with how you believe your world should be.
When anger comes up in our relationship, we should try to get to the root of the problem and find out what is really going on. What I have found helpful is to open up a dialogue and just allow the person who is angry to express how and why.
Of course, we need to learn how to express out anger or discontent without 'dumping' on the other. We can express ourselves without destroying the other person's sense of self-worth or attacking them emotionally, verbally, or physically. We should learn to take responsibility for your anger and not project it onto someone else. Use "I" statements to be specific, such as "I am really upset about what you said" instead of "You are rude".
The partner's job is to listen in a detached, non-judgemental way. It is true that this might sound like a lot of work, but with trust and practice, it rewards with a relationship free of resentments.
Reacting quickly and honestly to angry emotions by passes the tendency of periodic explosions and tends to "clear the air". When you defuse anger, you will be able to bring back the connections and love that you have lost in that moment. We can choose to let go of the fear of being wrong, or appearing ridiculous, etc., an act on our feelings. Be true to yourself. Holding back is only postponing the truth and can harm the other as well as ourselves. Holding back is postponing the freedom to be who we really are. A foundation of safety and trust in the relationship must be present to enable us express or listen to anger with love instead of fear. When you express or listen to anger from love instead of fear, the relationship would experience growth and consequently deepens.
10 ULTIMATE RULES FOR A GREAT RELATIONSHIP
Be fair
Be honest
Maintain a strong sense of self and know who you are
Know and nourish your own boundaries. Once you lose your boundaries in any relationship, it is only a matter of time before in dies.
Relationships shouldn’t be an all work affair therefore have fun
It is highly essential to LISTEN AND COMMUNICATE. The same words actually means different things to different people.
Be forgiving. You should bear in mind that everyone makes mistakes. Be ready at all times to forgive.
Nourish the love. Love grows and therefore must be nourished. Nurture love with affection
Cultivate activities done together and separately. Relationships need common grounds but they also need spaces. Don’t share absolutely everything
Last but not the least, if you must throw something, make sure iys soft because its probably coming back!

JESUS AT GETHSEMANE: A lesson for us
You may ask, why did Jesus go to Gethsemane? The simplest answer to this question is that Jesus went there to seek the fellowship and encouragement of His Father before He went to the cross. What He experienced in Gethsemane was far from simple, however, it reaches beyond the understanding of all who read about it.
The accounts are given of Jesus’ agony in Gethsemane(Matt. 26:36-46; Mark14:32-42; Luke 22:39-46). The biblical description of His demeanor are extraordinary. We read that He was “sorrowful and very heavy” and that He said, ”My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death” (Matt 26:37-38). He also was “sore amazed” (Mark 14:33). He was “in an agony,” and sweat “great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44).
Why would the Son of God, so composed and self-possessed in the upper room, suddenly yield to agitation and despair? Why would He so determinedly cling to the fellowship and support of untrustworthy disciples in this hour? Perhaps the following reasons will help shed light on the depth of Jesus’ agony.
Jesus was distressed, first, because of the prospect of physical death. If sinful humans dread death, how much more would the sinless Son of God dread it, to whom it was utterly foreign?
Perhaps some have faced death more calmly than Jesus did. The “cup” (Luke 22:42) from which Jesus recoiled contained more than death, though. It included, second, the prospect of separation from God. He could still say “Abba Father” (Mark 14:36), for He was on intimate terms with Him. Soon, however, He would bear the sins of man (cf. Isa 53:6; 11 Cor. 5:21), and the horror of the resulting separation from the Father was beyond comprehension (cf. Mark 15:34)
A third reason for Jesus’ distress was the mysterious relationship between His divine and human natures. In His deity, He knew the crucifixion was necessary, and He had focused His energies on providing redemption for man. In His humanity, however, He longed to escape this hideous ordeal. It was in His humanity that He “learned…obedience by the things which He suffered” (Heb. 5:8).
Fourth, Jesus’ agony was explained by the fact that He was locked in a battle with the powers of darkness. He had prophesied that the prince of this world would come (John 14:30). When He later was taken prisoner, He declared to His captors, “This is your hour, and the power of darkness” (Luke 22:53)
Jesus was aware of this struggle when he entered the garden. That was why he warned His disciples against falling into temptation. (Luke 22:40, 46). THIS WAS THE GREATEST TEMPTATION HE EVER FACED. Satan was trying to keep Him from submitting to death and fully accomplishing His Father’s will. So great was the pressure that an angel was sent to strengthen Him (vs. 43).
Jesus finally overcame temptation by submitting himself to His Father’s will and claiming His strength (cf. Mark14:36). He emerged victorious and resolute, and He never looked back. The issue had been settled, and Satan’s attack had been thwarted.
The disciples were not that successful. Leaving 8 of them at the entrance to the garden, Jesus had taken Peter, James, and John with Him and urged them to “tarry… and watch” (Mark 14:34). Soon they fell asleep. When Jesus returen, He mildly rebuked SWimon Peter and exhorted all three of them (vs 37-38). The exhortation turned out to be ineffective, for they fell asleep again. Eventually, they forsook Him in His time of need.
While the command to watch and pray was thus given to Peter, James, and John, it carries a warning for all of us. The prince of darkness is still active. Unless we claim God’s strength in prayer, we will surely fall into temptation.

Schools to open next week
ASUU STRIKE: Nigeria Universities To Open Next Week With Or Without ASUU
In a last ditch effort to resolve the ASUU strike, President Goodluck Jonathan will on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU at the Presidential Villa.
This was part of the resolutions of the meeting between the ASUU leadership, Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education on Tuesday as was first reported by this medium.
An official of the Vice President’s office who pleaded anonymity said that all hands are now on deck to ensure that the universities resume next week.
The official stated that the Vice President and the Supervising Minister of Education have made head-way in resolving the strike, but the final involvement of the President is to show ASUU that there is the commitment of the Federal Government at the highest level.
It was learnt that the President has been fully briefed on steps taken by Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education to get to this point and he will at next Monday’s meeting present to the ASUU leadership the administration’s last concession for them to call off the prolonged strike.
A source at the Presidential Villa noted that if ASUU fails to call off, the Federal Government will then resort to plan B, which will be to compulsorily open the universities, using the instrumentality of the governing councils and the school managements.
Already, most of the governing councils of the universities have started meeting to work out modalities for the compulsory re-opening of the universities should ASUU fail to honour the personal request of President Jonathan.
According to report, the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike and the Vice Chancellors of Public Universities also discussed the re-opening of the schools last Monday. Most of the Vice Chancellors suggested the compulsory re-opening of the schools, should the last ditch efforts fail.
It was gathered that security report available to the Presidency may have necessitated this line of action to salvage the universities system from the direction it is facing at present.

Some Fact About Guys
1. Guys are more emotional then they
think,
if they loved them truly.
2. Guys may be flirting around all day
but
before they go to sleep, they always
think
about the girl they truly care about.
3. Guys go crazy over a girl's smile.
4. A guy who likes you wants to be
the only
guy you talk to.
...
5. Guys are more emotional than
they'd
like people to think.
6. Girls are guys' weaknesses.
7. If a guy tells you about his
problems, he
just needs someone to listen to him.
You
don't need to give advice.
8. When a guy asks you to leave him
alone,
he's just actually saying, "Please come
and
listen to me."
9. No guy can handle all his problems
on his
own. He's just too stubborn to admit it.
10. When a guy sacrifices his sleep and
health just to be with you, he really
likes you
and wants to be with you as much as

IS THE HOLY SPIRIT A PERSON?
Is the Holy Spirit a person, just like God the Father and Jesus Christ, as the doctrine of Trinity teaches? Let's examine the plain, clear testimony of the Scripture to see what God's Holy Spirit is.
First, it is the power of God. "'Not by might nor by power [of humans], but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts" (Zachariah 4:6). "I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of justice and might," declared the prophet Micah (Micah 3:8).
Second, it is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding- the Spirit of counsel and might, of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2)
Third, it is a gift of God. After baptism, you receive "the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). It is poured out. "It shall come to pass in the last days, says God that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh" (verse 17)
Fourth, to be effective, the Holy Spirit must be stirred up. "I remind you to stir up the gift of God," Paul told the young evangelist Timothy (2 Timothy 1:6)
Fifth, the Spirit of God can be quenched (1 Thessalonians 5:19)
Sixth, it is the begetting power of God (Matthew 1:18, Romans 8:9)
Seventh, it is God's guarantee to us that he will fulfil his promise to us (Ephesians 1:13-14
Eight, it sheds the love of God abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5 Authorized Version).
Ninth, it must be renewed (2Corinthians 4:16)
Notice that in all these scriptures there is not one characteristic even implying the Holy Spirit is a person.
Does a person do any of these things? Is a person "poured", "quenched" or "renewed"?
Consider another important fact. If the Holy Spirit were a person, Jesus Christ prayed to the wrong individual. Throughout the four gospels, we found Christ speaking to God-not the Holy Spirit-as his Father.
Scripture explodes the Trinity error! If Scripture is our authority, we cannot accept the Trinity doctrine. What will you believe?

Steps to perfect eyebrows
I noticed that many people don't know how to make their eyebrows attractive. some go a long way to shave it of and wear eye pencil marks.
Did you know that your eyebrows can add a new meaning and definition to your face? When your eyebrows are well groomed, they go a long way to enhancing your beauty.
In shaping your eyebrows, you need to use the right facial features which include a pair of slant tweezers which grips hairs easily, eyebrow pencil and brush. Here are some easy guidelines to follow
Brush brows upwards and carefully trim any excess hair above the top of you natural arch. But, you need to be carefull so that you donnot remove too much, if not, you would have a brow 'bald' spot.
Look closely at the shape. Your brow should begin at the tearduct, peak at the outer edge of the iris and end at the outer corner of your eye. Many women make the mistake of removing toomuch hair at the outer corners and this slant the brows upwards and make the woman look like shes angry when shes not.
It is time to prepair your skin. Soak cottonwool ball in an astringent and use it to wipe your brow area.
Then, hold an eye pencil in line with the outer side of your iris and note where the peak of your arch naturally starts. From the arch to the outer corner of the eye, your brow should fall in a staigt or slantly curved line, depending on the look you want to achieve.
Take the tweezers and hold at 45degree and pluck the stray hair below the browline. You should pull hair in the direction of the hair growth, if not, you may end up breaking the hair mid-shaft. Just follow your natural brow shape and not trend. Well, it is very difficult to grow back your brows into their natural shape after you have plucked them to death trying to achieve and create a particular trend look.
Fill in spartse brow areas with a freshly sharpend brow pencil. Use light, but quick strokes to draw in hair. Use brow powder to give thin brows an overall definition that is good for a more natural look. Then, using brow brush, sweep powder up and outwards over brows.
If you are a brow novice, simply use a tinted brow gel to keep your brow in place. Lightly use it to coat brows using upwards and outward strokes. Then, wipe off excess gell.

MANAGING DAILY PRESSURE
We will never be the person we can be if pressure, tension and discipline are taken out of our life
-John Mason
The anthropologist says that when the fundamental pattern of a society or individual is destroyed, the individual or society becomes disorganized.
This disorganization may be temporal or permanent depending on how the pressure is managed to bring joy and happiness for the fulfilment of purpose.
There are some facts of life that we cannot change but to try to survive it. Pressures are inevitable so the way they are managed determines the outcome of our life and relationship. Meeting and coping with pressures of life successfully will make us grow into full stature of a mature human being.
One thing about pressure is that most of them do not exist except in our imagination. When pressures mounts, lets relax, reorient ate ourselves and reorganize our plans so that we will be able to cope realistically and effectively. Path without obstacles leads nowhere.
If it seems you have come to the end of the rope, hang on and do not give up. Keep hanging on. Free your mind, and then get away from despair that creates unnecessary pressure.
We either rise up the ladder or remain at the bottom depending on how we control our daily pressures. Show me a man who has done something worthwhile and I will show you the man who has overcome many pressures and adversities
If we can avoid unholy trinity of disappointment, frustration and despair that comes from pressure, we are sure of lasting bliss and happiness.
Control your thoughts, direct your emotion and you will attain your destiny. Finally, pressure divides love and adds friction with sickness and loneliness. Love erases pressure; it brings hope and helps the sense of reasoning.

SOMETHING JESUS DIDN'T KNOW
The Preacher
Some assume that Jesus knew everything. After all, before he became flesh, he was the Word, who had been with God from the beginning (John 1:1-2, 14).
Jesus for example, knew he existed before Abraham (John 8:56-58). He knew he had seen Satan fall from heaven (Luke 10:18). He often knew precisely what people were thinking (Matthew 9:4, 12:25).
But we cannot assume he knew everything.
It seems unlikely that Jesus, as an infant, knew every fact and the words of every language. Jesus, as a credible example for us, grew in grace and knowledge (2 Peter 3:18, Luke 2:52). Sometimes he seemed mildly surprised (Matthew 16:15-17, 8:10)
Jesus did not know when he would return (Matthew 24:36). He did not know the Father's will perfectly.
Shortly before his arrest and crucifixion, Jesus prayed to escape the trial: "If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will but as You will" (Matthew 26:39, 42). Jesus knew the scriptures that predicted his crucifixion, yet he thought that an escape was worth asking for.
Jesus, because of the Holy Spirit that filled him, knew God's law and what kind of character to have. But he didn't know every detail of God's will for the future.
The Bible tells us how to live and what character to have. We know God's will in these, but we don't always know God's will in detail of our future.
We, like Jesus, don’t have to know everything. Sometimes we simply have to wait and see.

Nigeria's unity threatened: Is Biafra ripe for self rule?
INTRODUCTION
If you have read Chinua Achebe's epic novel There Was A Country, then this article is just for you to take note of some facts therein- the Nigeria-Biafra relationship. if not, then get the baseline as we explore the novel together
Excerpt from the 2012 book "there was a country" by Chinua Achebe and the 1998 "the Kingfisher Children's Encyclopaedia". Analyzed and Compiled by Ogbonna Chidiebube Samuel.
NIGERIAN AND BIAFRA- AN OVERVIEW
Nigeria is a republic on the west African coast. it has greater population than any other African country with an area of 923768 sq. km. There are three main ethnic groups, the Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba. Nigeria became independent from Britain in 1960, October 1.
Now we have seen what Nigeria is like, lets briefly see the Republic of Biafra. Biafra is a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of the citizens. The republic took its name from the bight of Biafra, the vast expanse of water covering the continental shelf in which Niger river empties before flowing into Gulf of Biafra. however, the body of water was renamed Gulf of Guinea. Biafra is home to a large number of ethnic group with Igbo making up about 65% of the population.
THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA
After the European left, and within 6 years of colonial manipulation of Nigeria's first election in favour of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria was a cesspool of misrule and corruption. Public servants helped themselves freely with public wealth. Elections blatantly rigged. Census was outrageously stage managed; judges and magistrates were manipulated. The social malaise in Nigerian society was political corruption. There was an inbuilt power struggle among the ethnic groups, those in power wanted to remain in power of course.
The original idea of one Nigeria was pressed by the leaders and intellectuals from the Eastern Region. With all this idea to build the country as one. The first to object were the Northerners, led by the Awolowo clique that had created the Action group. The Northern People's Congress of the Sadaunians was supposed to be a national party, yet it refused to change its name from Northern to Nigerian People's Congress. Power, according to the British construct went to the conservative element(Northerners) who played no active role in the struggle for independence. Nigeria was given her independence "on a platter of gold". We should have known that freedom should be won, not given on a plate. Like the head of John the Baptist, this gift to Nigeria proved most unlucky. By 1965, the problems of the nation was long overdue. The January 15, 1966 coup changed Nigeria forever.
THE COUP
The 1966 coup was initially received with jubilation, not too long afterwards, it was tagged 'Igbo coup', a means of Igbos of the East to seize control of Nigeria. Part of the way to respond to confusion in Nigeria was to blame those of other ethnic group. Easterners were afterwards attacked, lust for revenge engulfed Nigerians who consequently took out Igbos who led the nation in virtually every sector. This same group, the Igbo, that gave the British so many headaches and literally drove them out of Nigeria is now an open target.
Soldiers were being used to commit a number of crimes against Igbos, their fellow Nigerian citizens. Military officers rounded people up and summarily executing them, this caused the Igbos in the north flee the pogrom. The most disheartening thing was that the federal government sat by and let all these happen.
THE INCOMPATIBILITY OF NIGERIA AND BIAFRA
The origin of the national resentment of the Igbo is as old as Nigeria and quite as complicated ( I use Igbo here to represent Biafra) The Igbo culture, being receptive to change, individualistic, and highly competitive, gave the Igbo man an unquestioned advantage over his compatriots in securing credentials for advancement in Nigerian colonial society. Unlike the Hausa/Fulani he was unhindered by a wary religion and unlike the Yoruba he was unhampered by tradition hierarchies. This kind of creature, fearing no god or man, was custom-made to grasp the opportunities such as they were, of the white man's dispensations. And the Igbo did so with both hands.
According to Paul Anber, with unparalleled rapidity, the Igbos advanced fastest in the shortest period of time of all Nigeria's ethnic groups like the Jews... the population density in Igbo land created a "land hunger"... a factor that led to migration to other parts of the nation.
The Igbos has the highest literacy rate among the whole ethnic groups. Igbos absorbed education as readily as they responded to urbanization. Instead of the nation to harness the adventurous spirit of the Igbo and celebrate them, they attempt to crush these people and their potentials; this is a reason for the current developmental challenges in Nigeria today.
The Nigerian history has been riddled by coups, countercoups and assassinations. After the 1966 coup, the northerners killed top Igbo government officials, they did nt stop there, they slaughtered, maimed and wounded the Igbo civilians in the north too. Peace talks were held in Aburi and agreements reached. The failure of the Nigerian head of state, Gowon, to implement the Aburi agreement led to a strong sense of apprehension by the Igbos. Afterwards this led to the secession of the Easterners from Nigeria. However, this was the decision of the entire Igbo people and not from Ojukwu (the Biafran head of state) alone.
THE WAR
After the coup, and the flight of the Igbos from the various parts of Nigeria down to the east, their home, Ojukwu declared the independence of Biafra. War ensued few months later. The Nigerian troops fiercely attacked Biafra in the war, which broke out in 1967 and lasted for 30 months. Biafrans though lacking sufficient weapon unlike the Nigerians, the held out for so long by devising several means of survival till they surrendered. After the war, things were never the same again. The northerners alongside the westerners occupied top government positions thereby tossing igbos to the background at least until recently.
WHAT NEXT?
Confederating Nigeria was among the Aburi accord, which the then Nigerian head of state and his office paid little attention to. The recent problems in Nigeria stems from ethnic differences, which has defied all possible solutions. Boko Haram has threatened the unity and security of the nation. The ruling party, PDP, has broken into two-sub party because of zoning issue, and ethnic difference. A northern politician once said in October 2013 that the north could survive without oil, the capital product of the south-east. So, the big question is, do you think there is a possible solution to these problems? Do you think the solution is the secession of Biafra from Nigeria? Or do you think that the Igbos are not ripe for self rule and thereby should stay put in Nigeria? Your opinion can help shape the future of this 53 year old Giant of Africa!!

Life in Federal Government College Enugu
Teenagers from all nooks and crannies of the country gather to be admitted into the prestigious FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE ENUGU. With close observation, one would notice differences in their character and so on,bt all the same, they arrive with one motive, and that is to read and pass through the school in flying colours. But could these people maintain this motive and leave without regrets? To the students of today, its at most a mirage.
One tries to adapt in the school and notice a difference in the ways of her people. They try to look 'cool and feel cool' and also behave cool and everyone answers guy or babe,or even niggers. You get fascinated by all these and try to belong in the new trend to avoid being called an 'unblé'. You try to be sophisticated, and learn all the techniques of guys. Then of thanks to yourself. "Wait a sec,im different! I aint be 'solo'",before you know it,you are immersed in the big guys' way and try to 'blend' with your fellow niggers.
Down into your senior class, you wil realise the need for show. "Chicks wil notice me if i behave like this". Well those are the same girls u knew in Juniour Class, girls u chatted freely with then. The only difference now is increase in age and maturity, but according to Boyle's law both your ratio are still in equillibrum. You become shy when talking to them, you try to 'gather liver' before confronting them, but with ur treble voice and treble voice,u walk with pride feeling their eyes on you. You forget the lessons thought in class which u put as teacher 'pouring dust',and u spend ur time with other truants also called 'stabbers' staring at girls and gisting about them. You listen carefully when they talk of their nightly exploits and 'fun' with girls and their experiences in different nite parties and clubbing, all these make u want to belong.
Ok,this is just the begining.
Being a boarder u hv paid the normal fees of N6,650,therefore should be rendered good services worth the amount. But, no! You cant eat the school food, why? "Girls are in ref". You must not reach the refectory to avoid the impression that u are hungry, and when u even try to come, just having a hunch that a babe is watching wil make your food fall frm ur fork. Well,if u r in ur final year u send someone to smuggle food out of the ref for u,when he fails,u lash out stars from his eyes! U bear the hunger nd hope he wuldnt fuck up nxt tym. If u r nt yet a finalist,u walk back to the dorm,ur stomach threatens u and u hide in the box room to drink a 3hr old emergency bowl of 'soaks' or garri. All these cos there are sowe idle boys who tell girls about other boys in dorm!
Meanwhile this soaks that is drank at home on a steady basis at least once a day. But displayed in your locker are empty packets of chocolate and milk and rusty old quaker oat cans, hmm everything 'na wash' or camouflage.
Feeling proud of yourself,u think of ur achivements and realise dat u havnt achieved the main thing which is to 'rap a chick'. You make a list of girls and start eliminating them one by one then at last you mark one who would make you a 'don' if seen moving with her.You pick a dictionary and make supliments of vocabulary. If you arent haffled up u end up borrowing cash and kind. Plans are made and you wait for the appointed day. You are with the babe at the canteen known as the students' 'center' during break where the whole 'federal' can see you. Then u buy the whole center and munch your brains out. Alas comes the moment when you have to pour the lyrics. After being bored by your shakespearean vibes, she looks at u straight in the eyes and asks,''is that all?'' Next thing you see is her back view as she leaves the building. You want to shed tears but as a 'big boy' u 'maintained' so that you wont 'fall hands'. Noticing that your pocket is empty, you think of your life as if scales have fallen off your eyes. Apart from being feather weight, you now have nothing to boast of in school. You dont even have plans of returning the things u borrowed. Exams are around the corner,u havent opened a book since, apart from love stories. Why cant i just be a 'carton man'? I could have cut my hair once a term instead of weekly, why didnt anyone warn me? If you were warned, would u have listened?
These are the risks students have to face in Federal;the things you have to overcome-when you want to be hot!!
