The technology giant is holding a special event in its Cupertino headquarters where the headline item is tipped to be the iPhone SE, an iPhone that has the smarts of the iPhone 6 on the inside but the form factor similar to the smaller iPhone 5 with a 4-inch screen.
The company unveiled the iPhone SE Monday, a poorly kept secret executives described as "the most powerful 4-inch phone ever." The phone starts at $399, or $17 a month without a service contract. Orders start March 24 and the phone will become available March 31.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is also expected to announce a 9.-7-inch iPad Pro, bringing Apple’s main tablet category up to speed with the 12-inch iPad Pro released last year.

The iPhone SE features the same processing power of the flagship 6S, which is double that of the iPhone 5S. It also packs the same graphics capability of the 6S, and includes a 12 megapixel iSight camera.
Apple took a similar retro approach for its newest iPad Pro, shrinking the business-focused tablet to a 9.7-inch diagonal size that echoes that of the standard iPad. The differences include a display that is superior to that of the standard iPad, which increased contrast ratio and 40% less reflective than an iPad Air 2. It is also 25% brighter. The device will go head to head with Microsoft's Surface Pro.
The new iPad is expected to have a smart connector so keyboards can attach magnetically and work with the Apple Pencil.
There is also likely to be new bands for the Apple Watch and new software updates announced for the iPhone and iPad.
The big question remains. At the end of today’s event, will Cook excite Apple fans with those few simple words: one more thing?
