The Latest from the West African University Games (WAUG): Celebratory Pictures

Goodmorning ladies and gentlemen, following the opening of this year's West African University Games, which featured many universities from around nigeria converging at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, the game encountered several hitches and challanges among which rain was inclusive.

Although this is the dusk of the rainy season, there has been incessant rain, some said it is as a result of the negligence of the university authority to appease the rainmakers. However, the school has battled hard to ensure the safety of the visitors. The school beefed up security round the campus, she took some other measures such as locking down most of her numerous gates such as Odim Gates, Odenigwe gates, Hilltop Gates etc.

The match that was played against Benue State Universityon the Tuesday, 20th Oct. saw UNN emerging victorious with 1-0 win. The match was more or less humorous with the boys swimming in the swampy waters in the stadium. The water prevented the free play of the Ball, the speed of the ball and the dribbling skills of the players. But nevertheless, it wont be considered unfair since both team changed goal posts.
