LIVE FROM THE GRAMMYS: Manika arrives on the Grammys red carpet in ‘the most attention seeking dress ever’

Manika admitted on Twitter she had “forgotten” her clothes on the red carpet.

THERE’S always one star who decides to turn up wearing next to nothing on the red carpet in a bid for some free publicity, and this year that award goes to Manika.


The 22-year-old American singer, who isn’t up for a Grammy this year, wore a bizarre sheer “dress” which exposed her bare bottom to all and sundry at music’s most prestigious event.

UK’s The Mirror said the singer turned up minus her underwear in “what can only be described as the most attention seeking dress ever.”


Manika, known for her single I Might Go Lesbian (a collaboration with Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend Tyga) wasn’t afraid to admit her outfit strategy to her 1.14m followers on Twitter, which was to “keep them guessing.”


“Almost.. naked ;)” she added, saying she felt “sexy” in her revealing outfit.

She also responded to her critics by saying: “Love me or hate me, I’ve still got you talking,” later adding, “Really?! OMG! You’re right ... I must have forgotten my clothes at home. I didn’t realise until you told me,” when someone suggested she forgot to get dressed.


Manika’s dress was handmade by designer Arthur Christine and was inspired by her home town, Vegas and singer Cher, but others simply thought it looked like a belly dancing outfit.

Despite her best efforts to steal the show, Manika wasn’t the only one who copped a bit of flak for her Grammys look.


Skylar Grey wore a strange webbed number, while Z La La gave off major arachnid vibes.


Meanwhile, Lady Gaga will be trying hard for most of the night not to break her ankle in her gigantic platform shoes.


The singer, who will perform a David Bowie tribute at the Grammys just days after getting a picture of the singer tattooed on her torso, appeared to also channel the singer in her fashion and overall eccentric look.

Tove Lo was also the subject of criticism, donning a large septum ring with dangling accessory (which should makes things difficult at meal time), while Dencia arrived in an embellished Hello Kitty onesie.

An Eight Harry Potter Book will be out later in the year

An eight official Harry Potter book will be released on July 31 this year - but there’s a catch.

Named Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the story is set 19 years after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Yep, Harry is adulating.

Here’s what goes down, according to the official website:

“It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.


The new “book” in the series.

“While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places”.

Cursed Child is not a conventional book, but rather, the script of a play set to open on London’s West End in July this year. It’s based on a new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

WhatsApp Passes One Billion Users Milestone!

WhatsApp is used by more than one billion people


The California-based firm announced the milestone just six years after it was founded by ex-Yahoo! employees Brian Acton and Jan Koum.

The app's popularity has stemmed from its allowing groups of people to stay in touch simultaneously without having to enter contact details.

As well as text messages, users can also share photos, videos and other media.

It also offers a similar secure messaging service to the BlackBerry and has become more popular as the Canadian phone maker has seen its handsets fall in popularity compared to those made by other smart phone makers.

It has also proved popular in the US where mobile phone customers often have to pay for text messages.

More than half of its subscribers have been added in the last 21 months, according to Forbes.

A message on the app's blog section said: "One billion people are using WhatsApp. That's nearly one in seven people on Earth.

"We are proud of this milestone, and we're humbled by the extraordinary ways all of you have used WhatsApp.

"WhatsApp began as a simple idea: ensuring that anyone could stay in touch with family and friends anywhere on the planet, without costs or gimmicks standing in the way.

"So even as we celebrate this achievement, our focus remains the same.

"Every day, our team continues to work to improve WhatsApp's speed, reliability, security and simplicity. We're excited to see how far we've come. But now, it's back to work – because we still have another 6 billion people to get on WhatsApp."

WhatsApp was bought by Facebook in February 2014 for $19bn (£12bn).

It is popular in India, which has the largest number of users for a country, but faces competition in Asia from other messaging services like WeChat and Viber.

The app has proved controversial in some countries where fears remain over secure messaging, with Brazil trying but failing to ban the service in December 2015.

But supporters point to its successes such as helping refugees avoid getting into difficulty while crossing the Mediterranean Sea

A lot of pop culture references appeared in my brain when I watched these men struggle to pursue their dream — especially the Spice Girls’ “2 Become 1” — but also “Weird Al” Yankovic’s masterful “Fat” music video and that one time Marge Simpson revealed that she purchases Homer’s pants with “balloon seating” for extra support.



The real reason why I like this video so much, though, is because it reminds me of this tweet — inarguably the greatest tweet of all time.
